Scouts – come up with your own ideas of how to help your community. Plan and carry out your ideas after seeking approval from Chris. Receive this rather natty badge to show you did your bit.
10 Patrol Points to each scout who organises and completes an idea, for example, if you are a PL and you organise your whole patrol to do something, potentially you could receive 8 x 10 PP = 80 PP. Get thinking. Quick.
As part of the DIY badge Cubs practiced hammering, drilling, screwing and sawing wood. This was followed by the Cubs making wonderful bird boxes. These were made over a few weeks with the Cubs drawing out the pattern on the wood and then sanding the edges after this had been cut for them. They then nailed the parts together and put the roof on. Cubs were allowed to take the boxes home and asked to put them up on their walls for the birds to live in. We have recently been doing our Naturalist badge and hope that the bird boxes have attracted plenty of birds for them to look at!
Tonight, we want your ideas, ahead of the sleepover / Camp Cook badge / Pioneers badge Finalé (Fri 24th / Sat 25th May). What do you want to do the evening before? Suggestions so far include pancakes, popcorn and a film on the big screen… got any other ideas?
The overall objective tonight is to plan how you are going to cook breakfast for the parents on the Saturday morning of the sleepover – ON A CAMPFIRE. What have you learnt from your practise fire-lighting and cooking nights? What would you do differently? A reminder of the recent practise sessions… click on the image for more pics.
