I think all the Scout leader will be there to show there support, Including my son Daniel.

After the pub at the bottom of the hill and over the bridge there is a right turn onto Gear Lane. Continue up Gear lane till you reach the farm. The ponds are on the left.

This is Dan with his fishing pole…..this could be classed as survival fishing as this method would have been used along time ago.

Lost property to pick up

There’s a bunch of lost property to pick up from the hut. Some from SURFcamp, some from Splashdown, some from District! Ahead of chucking it all out / giving it away on Sept 11th, I’m posting this to give you all a chance to collect your smelly old stuff! Click the link to view photos of lost property and collect your stuff TODAY between 4pm – 5pm before the smelly stuff gets thrown away.

  • Dry stuff – collect today if poss. Gets thrown away / given away Sept 11th.
  • Wet/damp/smelly stuff – collect today. Gets thrown away tonight!

Back home

SURFcamp: Wow! What an amazing camp. I’m utterly exhausted, my eyes hurt, my feet hurt, my back hurts, I’ve got a huge bag of stinky soaking wet clothes to wash, I’m going to have to throw a pair of my shoes away they’re so bad, BUT we all have some brilliant memories of all the different things that happened on camp. As Tiernan might say, it was “totally orthum”…

What’s next: There are lots of things for the leaders to do now, involving money, receipts, banks, organisation, sorting kit out, replacing kit, repairing kit, taking minibuses back etc SO…. please be patient before we can upload photos / videos etc – give us a few days to get it sorted.

Helpers needed: IF ANY SCOUTS WANT TO HELP OUT, Louis and Chris will be down at the hut from 2pm today (Monday) to sort out and hang up/dry the tents, and to clean the big green bus. If you live locally, come and give us a hand. It would really help us get things done more quickly. Cookies provided.

Scout writers required: When you’ve recovered, it’d be great if some of you could spend an hour or two and write about all the different funny things that happened on camp. This way we can put your memories together with the photos. We’ll publish the reports on the website. Here are some things to jog your memory:

  • Wed: Indoor skydiving, the journey down (Ewan), getting to the campsite in the dark, the weather.
  • Thu: The weather, waking up in the new campsite, shower construction/tree, “climbing” at Bosigran cliffs, wandering around St. Ives in the beautiful weather
  • Fri: The weather, air rifle shooting, surf school at Westward Ho!, shopping, getting back to the tents, BBQ, injuries
  • Sat: The weather, going to Saunton Sands, swimming in the big waves, cold showers, and all the different things at the party back at camp
  • Sun: Packing up camp, the journey home.
  • Write two or three pages (or more if you want)
  • 10 patrol points for each report I get before 23rd August!
  • Please type them up and get a parent to email your report to the address on the contact page.

From Steve, Louis, Lucy, Lucy, Becky and I, thanks for a great trip. Well done Oak Street.
